After about 13 hours of being in a vehicle we finally made it to our destination. I had only been waiting to get here for the past month. It was the last week of summer before grade 11 started so I wanted this to be a good trip. I had my brand new camera ready and was thrilled to see the amazing sights of Chicago. Three weeks before the family trip to Chicago I was able to find a really good deal on a camera I was looking to buy. A couple days before we left for our road trip I was able to go the Winnipeg Zoo to try out my camera and see how well it works. Most of the pictures from the zoo turned out phenomenal, so I was even more exited to capture my memories of Chicago. The first full day we were in Chicago my family and I decided to go sightseeing. This wasn’t just a time for me to take pictures it was time for me to experience and see all the different wonderful sights of Chicago; like Cloud Gate, Skydeck Ledge, Buckingham Fountain, Miracle Mile, and many more things. The next couple of days we had the chance to go to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry and the Navy Pier, because both places had so much to do we ended up spending a whole day at both of them. The Museum and the Navy Pier had so many unique things and I was able to capture all of it on my camera. But the most significant memory I have of Chicago is being on the top of the Navy Pier Ferris wheel and being able to see all the high-rises and skyscraper buildings along the coast, it was just a magnificent sight that I will never be able to experience in Winnipeg, but I will be able to remember and see forever. Although I probably missed out on something’s by always taking photos, I found I can look back at them and remember how fantastic that trip was. And I will always be able to remember those memories just because I took a couple of photographs. |
